my peach tree is 4 years old and this is the first year it produced, but they're not ripening, they're staying small and green, not sure if it's weather or lack of fertilizer or something else, but i'm glad to know it's not because i messed up by not pruning it!! going to do some more research and see about giving it some good plant food and hope for an edible production next season!

Also in my field, A lot of wild Trees was Born in my no zone big area, nature did it alone. It was a Barren clay land, landslides, and also pressed by tractors! And recently orchids also bloomed. I guess there are also truffles since it is not touched since about 30 years. Bees every years swarm into here, since there are plenty of wild flowers.

I planted Amaranth one year but didn't know how to use the plant. A volunteer sprouted about eight years later. That plant was sturdy and happy. I didn't even plant in that garden, so It was never watered or cared for. That plant had no concern itself about TLC. It only cared about growing. It was still standing until I took it down at the beginning of winter.

There are some obvious signs of incompatibility there but you have no idea what they used as a rootstock - it could have been anything. I bought a pear tree at a big box store once and it ended up being callery rootstock. I ended up grafting over it with multiple varieties.

An igloo cooler on wheels requires a hatching tray on the opposite side of the wheels and greatly reduces the number of eggs you can hatch .A full size tray above the wheels will be too close to the top if your lights on top (like mine!) Wish I'd used a foam cooler like yours!I could have saved myself a lot of time!

Where I am, August would be too late to plant, even for a short cropping variety. The varieties I intend to try are known to do well with several frosts to go. Today, as in, before I go to bed, I will not plant them. Tomorrow (technically, tonight), I will. While I will hoe up where I intend to plant, and I will scythe around the site until I get emergence on the maize, I won't really bother with anything else.

  • @ellenorbjornsdottir1166

So you're telling me I could direct drill maize into low-mowed clover, so long as I stay within 2½ and 7½ centimeters depth? Quick Q: are/were you west of the rockies, between the rockies and the mississippi (if north of the mississippi headwaters at Lac Labiche, the eastern half of manitoba is east of, the western half and all points west are west of), or east of the mississippi?
